Shannon Milliken

“When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves.” – Victor Frankl

Shannon has worked in healthcare for over 20 years and throughout that time, she has come to appreciate that patients need a healthcare provider that listens to their needs, validates their message and understands their concerns.

She is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who strives to have a therapeutic alliance with all of her patients. Services include Psychiatric medication management and evaluation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Specialities include mood disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, and sleep disorders.

“I believe that the patient is a vital member of the health care team and a key component of creating a patient plan of care that is patient focused and patient centered. I take a holistic approach to treating the mental health of my patients using evidence-based therapies and medications tailored to their mental health needs.”

In her spare time, Shannon likes going for walks, meditation, volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America and attending her kids’ softball games.

I graduated from Kent State University with a master’s degree in nursing with the specialty of Psychiatry.
