“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes that it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” – Maya Angelou

As a caring mental health counselor, Mioma feels that one of the most rewarding aspects of her job is the opportunity to provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals in need.

“Each client who walks through the door bring their own unique set of challenges, experience and perspectives, and it is my role to approach them with empathy, patience and a genuine desire to understand and support them.”

Mioma utilizes a wide variety of techniques when working with adults: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) for trauma, Acceptance Therapy, Unconditional Positive Regard, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She specializes in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), anger Management, stress management and relational issues.

The personalized care that Mioma offers may involve delving into a client’s pas traumas, current stressors, or deep-seated thought patterns, all while creating a safe, non-judgmental space for them to openly share their struggles. Throughout the process, Mioma remains a steadfast advocate, cheerleader and source of encouragement, helping each client navigate their personal journey towards greater self-understanding, resilience and overall wellbeing.

“It is immensely gratifying to witness the positive transformations that can occur when someone is given the space, tools and support to address their mental health challenges head-on.”

In her spare time, Mioma enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
